Challenger division player Thousands of Rhode Islanders have disabilities that make it tough for them to do things that others take for granted. That’s why we publish these recreation resource guide pages which include hundreds of ways people with disabilities can enjoy a vacation or participate in things like camping, organized sports, and community events.   • In addition to the recreation oportunities listed on the above pages, there are many unique, family-friendly, just plain fun attractions and events in Rhode Island like the one we've previewed below. The Rhode Island Tourism Council lists hundreds more by date in an easy to use data base.

    One of Rhode Island's best attractions is the Pawtucket Red Sox. The team opens the 2011 season at McCoy Stadium on April 7. It's Sports entertainment for all ages. Elevators, accessible parking and seating. Ticket prices: Box Seats $11, General Admission $7 adults, $5 children and seniors. PawSox programs include a special birthday party package. The birthday child receives a disposable camera to take pictures of the group at the stadium. His or her name will be announced during the game and displayed on the message board. Each party goer receives a hot dog or a personal pizza, cold drink, a bag of chips, and a premium ice cream bar. Cost: $17 per person. Minimum is 8 children and two adults.
