Individual and Family Advocacy Committee (IFAC) Goal:

Our goal is to support the human rights of individuals and families to participate fully in their community.

IFAC Activities

IFAC Objective 1
Adult Continuing Education

To locate and find out about models of adult continuing education programs for personal development, that meet the needs of people with all abilities (with emphasis on courses that provide better preparation for employment).

IFAC Objective 2
Service Learning

* To support service learning opportunities for all learners.
* To help schools and youth programs include students with all abilities in service learning.

IFAC Objective 3
Inclusive Education

Support Inclusive Education... to promote access to the general education curriculum in the most natural setting for each student.

IFAC Objective 4
Self-Determination

* To provide leadership and self-determination training, developing skills so that people can be effective advocates at the community, state and national levels.
* IFAC Committee members advise the staff about the Committee's purpose, may do some public speaking, and may connect the Council to new or personal networks to help get the work of the Committee done.
