Trips R Us. Social Programs, Recreation and Travel The Trips R Us goal is to allow people with disabilities to gain social skills and create a circle of friends similar to their typical peers. During trips, staff ratio is 1:4. Most people are young adults with developmental disabilities. Some individuals require extra assistance with everyday living skills, while others are very independent.
Search Beyond Adventures, Inc. For 25 years, Search Beyond has provided assisted vacations for adults with disabilities. Air tours include departures from Rhode Island's TF Green Airport. Bus tours depart from Boston and other national offices and pick up people en route to destinations. More than 100 tours are provided annually to both popular and unique vacation areas. Examples include: Orlando, Red Sox spring training in Florida, Toronto, Vermont, Lake George, Fiji cruises, Nashville, Las Vegas, Italy. Offers tours by air, bus, train, and cruise, many wheelchair accessible. Family members are welcome to participate.
New Directions, Inc. A non-profit organization providing local, national, and international travel vacations and holiday programs for teenagers, adults and seniors with developmental disabilities. Since 1985, has taken more than 7,000 people with disabilities on international tours. Also offers a wide range of challenging activities including skiing, biking tours, river rafting, hot air ballooning, kayaking, snorkeling, sailing and surf camps. Regularly scheduled west coast tours include Disneyland Magic and California Adventure, Summer Baja Cruise, Lucky Las Vegas, and an Alaska Cruise.
Access Tours. Offers accessible package tours of national parks and other special areas in the west. Wheelchair lift-equipped minibuses used.
The Guided Tour. Provides professionally supervised vacations for adults with developmental disabilities including mental retardation, autism, learning and other disabilities. Extraordinary variety of destinations and travel experiences in the United States and abroad.
Lucky Mindy Adventures, LLC. Contact Mindy Desens. For adults. Escorted and assisted group tours to domestic and exotic locations. Custom tours for any size group, any ability level. Small group size with high staff ratio to assist with care and activities of daily living. Accessible.
National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD). The NSCD caters to both children (over the age of 5) and adults with physical and/or developmental disabilities. Both summer and winter programs are offered in the Colorado area. Summer programs include adaptive golf, horseback riding, fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, accessible hiking, camping, adaptive cycling, and sports camps. Accessible lodging is available. Programs are open to individuals, families and agencies.
Sprout. Challenging and safe travel experiences for people with developmental disabilities and the agencies that serve them. Vacations, trips, slower paced trips. Participants travel within the typical group size of 10 participants and three leaders. Custom trips for agencies with groups of five or more.
Summit.Travel for teens and young adults with attention deficit disorder and/or learning disabilities.
All Out Adventures. Provides individuals with disabilities and their families and friends opportunities to build confidence and foster independence through outdoor recreation and travel. Serving group homes, state and local agencies, colleges and universities, outdoor recreation organizations, schools (K-12) and service agencies.
Outdoor Explorations. Works to challenge perceptions and change lives of people with and without disabilities through shared activities in the outdoors.
