Tennis anyone? Golf? A game of billiards? How about fishing, camping, martial arts, sailing, skiing, basketball, canoeing or horseback riding? Rhode Island's ARC centers provide recreation and athletic opportunities for thousands of children, teens and adults who not only have a great time socializing, but learn that their capabilities are far more expansive than they ever believed. Whether you are a novice or an expert, an athlete or an artist, ARCs offer structured and unstructured activities, personal and group challenges, along with the necessary supports. Friendships that develop increase self-esteem and self-worth. Typical activities include ball games, dinners, bowling, picnics, cooking classes, aerobics, music festivals, movies, theater, cards and bingo.

The ARCs may also offer Special Olympic training and team sports programs including basketball, gymnastics, power lifting, soccer, swimming, track and field, volleyball, roller-skating, and bowling. Integrated sports include basketball, floor hockey, softball and soccer. ARCs may also offer travel opportunities and camps.
